Dream Themes

Having started my dream diary allowed me to realise how many dreams resemble one another or share recurring themes. Even long before starting this experiment I noticed such recurring themes: running down being chased in staircases, going up in elevators, or visiting super complex and architecturally advanced cities. These city dreams (maybe one or two in a year) seemed to have a particular importance to me as I usually remembered them well and when a new one occurred I would add it to the growing mental collection.

Keeping a diary made me confirm that, in general, dreams repeat themes much more often than I had realised and this exercise revealed what patterns there were to them.

I would second what J. Bzoma says that as a population we have a rather limited repertoire of dreams (given the rather varied lifestyles and problems of daily life). I would also agree with him that the dreams do not reflect our very recent reality but that the recent reality serves as the canvass to paint the reflection of widely understood consciousness that is common to us all. What needs to be noted is that very often the dreams I have have absolutely nothing to do with what happened in my daily life, what I watched or read about recently. Often before sleep I cast an intention for a dream and ask for it to be clear to interpret and if I remember one after waking it is usually achievable to read from it.

Soon after starting the dream log I was able to confirm a few patterns which are listed below with no particular order:

Cars: driving them or being driven. Just like in daily life cars are used for transport, in the dream reality they serve as vessels for transporting the consciousness we are an individuation of. I have experienced a whole array of possibilities: me being the driver, me being the only passenger right next to the driver, me being driven with another being in the back seat of the car, me being a driver in one car but steering another! I have had difficulties finding my parked car or I saw it submerge in icy pool of water in a parking lot. Cars did seem a huge theme in my dreams even though I never really associated myself with one!

Bzoma says a car is a typical symbol of personal identity that needs to be shed before entering a higher level of consciousness. Another example of such a symbol, especially in case of women, are handbags which have the annoying habit of disappearing or being stolen in our dreams. One more example of a transportation tool are shoes. Shoes feature in a lot of dreams I have. They might be my shoes or other people`s shoes. Often they go missing, get damaged or undergo transformations.

Lifts are another thing that reappears in my dreams regularly. I hardly ever take them to go down, mostly it is waiting for them to go up. Sometimes I see people who come down to my level in a lift. I have had dreams of lifts going vertical and horizontal during one ride. Often they go beyond the level of the highest floor!

To go down in levels I usually take a staircase, quite often some entities chase me at a crazy speed but I am usually able to escape by skipping whole segments of stairs. Even in dreams this ability never ceases to amaze me how I have mastered the skill of speedy descent.

Another recurring themes is public transport: buses, trams, trains, subway. Another feature used to be a ticket collector or the action of buying/holding/losing tickets! After a while the collector stopped appearing and somehow I just board the means of transport without any worry. Apparently, the public transport vehicle is a long-range consciousness line and one must become mature enough to board one. I conclude that with time I got the authorisation to ride some of the routes.

For the longest time I was lost at airports in my dreams. I used to be allocated a guide of sorts but inevitably I would be left on my own and missing the plane. There was always a problem with my luggage: it was either too much of it, or I had to repack it, or the cases got lost etc. Only one time did I have a dream about landing at an airport but on this occasion I wasn’t allowed out of it because I refused to have my luggage scanned! J. Bzoma says that air travel takes us to the Brahmanic level and the landing is on the Brahmanic side. From my dreams it is clear I have not achieved this level yet. 🙂

Another (huge!) theme are bathrooms and toilets. They are always too crowded, have faulty locks or are simply dirty. Usually these are big rooms with lots of cubicles and huge traffic.  God knows how long I waste in my dreams looking for, navigating or sitting in toilets.

Clothes haunt me in many, many dreams. Closets full of clothing, getting changed or clothes morphing on me are something I experience quite regularly. In a few dreams I was either completely naked in a public place or missed a crucial piece of wardrobe but somehow it never bothered anyone but me. If I notice my clothes they are usually long, wavy and rather heavy garments.

Going on group trips happen frequently; what`s more I usually do not know anybody in the group. I usually find myself following a person or two but a large group typically tails behind us.

Initially there was lots of water reservoirs in my dreams, lots of rivers, lakes, large seas. Heavy precipitation is another feature. In my dreams water used to spill over banks or suddenly fill up streets. Water is supposed to be a sign of the soul seeping through the levels. Quite often in spite of being submerged in water I came out of it completely dry.

Another thing that became very clear was the location of my dreams; they would often happen in only a few places where I grew up. In one dream I was changing seats in the car at the Reneissance (Rebirth) Street! This is a location where a lot of my dreams occur.

Recently I have noticed more and more “androgynous” dreams: someone in the dream morphs from one gender into another, or I myself morph! Sometimes I meet someone who clearly is one gender but has a very strong connection to someone of opposite sex and eventually they both seem as one even though in separate bodies…

Canteens feature abundantly too; either they are still closed or run out of food, or there is no place to sit down. Generally there is a seating problem as I am new to the place and know nobody around. The feeling of isolation is common in my dreams but that can be easily linked to who I am outside of dreams.

School is another recurrence; but here it might be me either as a teacher or as a student (more often).

Once or twice I remember going to sleep or falling asleep in a dream and, obviously, nothing from the deeper level could be gleaned.

So, yes, even though there are all sorts of variations in my dreams, they certainly fall into a few categories that I believe many people share. To prove this is an uneasy task though as it takes a lot of self-discipline and effort not to let dreams disappear back to where they came from before they are logged.

A Holograph, a Simulation, or a Zoo?

I go to sleep with the following intention: How is the reality I live in correlated to a holographic reality or a simulation?

I ask to make the channel access clean and for the message to be easily identifiable and interpretable and so that I remember it after waking up.

I wake up in the middle of the night utterly disappointed at not remembering anything from my dream. Desperate to get an answer I repeat the initial process and go to sleep again. About 3 am I wake up with a clear recollection of the latest dream.

I walk in a compound that is separate from the rest of the city. It resembles a large garden but there are also large buildings. It looks very organic; built somewhat like a maze with lots of alleys and small winding paths. One of them leads to a building which might be 4 storeys high. I enter it and walk upstairs; on the second or third level it turns out it is a building where birds are kept. There are also maintenance rooms and (of course!) toilets. It is all rather clean, all in white tones but I feel a certain “Russian” feel to it.  It is all very empty. The maintenance rooms are ahead of me and the bird cages to the left. I have a little tour of the maintenance area but only enough to realise it is all empty.

Suddenly I find myself at the attic of the building looking out of the central window. I am either too tall for this floor or this floor has a very low ceiling. I look out into the blue sky and very high up I am able to discern the birds that are coming back from their break. It is one or two birds. I am supposed to take pictures of them (no idea of the reason for it) but decide that they are way too far away for it to make any sense. So, instead I just look at the bird. It seems just a  speck up above me but I know it is a rather large, white animal.

I am now a level lower in the building next to the cages I saw earlier. A group of kids has just left this area. I look at the cages but they are all empty. In the middle of the room there is a big donation box. It is cubic in shape, transparent. I see a 200 dollar bill wedged in between the walls of the box. I look carefully around and noticing nobody I think it is a lot of money that would last me a while so I decide to take it. At the very moment of me touching the money I realise I am being watched by the room keeper. She looks like one of a “Russian” ladies who usually sit in corner of museum rooms. She kind of hovers a little higher than me, and I can only see her head as the rest of her body is hidden behind some structure that looks like a cat playing frame. As soon as I realise I am watched I throw the money on top of the box towards the slit! At the same moment there appears a schoolchild next to me and does the same thing with a wad of notes! The “Russian” lady scoffs and cries out: “Oh, not another one!” with clear disdain in her voice. The child somehow supports me in concealing my true intentions and for a while we both struggle putting the notes inside the box. I can see more donation money loose on the box. There are all sorts of currencies and there is no way of knowing of their true value… I am now outside of the building looking at it from a hundred metres away or so.

 I am now inside another building. This one is larger but darker. I have just received a gift from someone. There seems to be a “Secret Santa” event going on. My gift is one of the most coveted ones! I wonder who would be so kind as to give it to me. I ask into the building and a voice says it was from them. I cannot make out who it was and I ask my mum again who it was. She kind of points towards the person. It turns out to be a girl I used to go to school with. (In real life we were never friends) The gift is a pair of boots! They look like cowboy boots; the colour of new succulent grass. I put them on but they seem impossible to walk in as the heels are so high!!! They are higher than ballerina shoes! In spite of this I put them on and walk up to this girl to complain about the unuseability of them! But by the time I approach her the boots have become quite comfortable! I got nothing to complain about then. I look at my feet and realise that these boots are now brown! They are also not high heels any more! It turns out they have lost the shanks too! (Or maybe I detached the shanks???) But I do have something to complain about! They are different shades! One is a few tones lighter than the other: one is beige and one is brown. I point this out to someone but I don’t think it makes an impact. I also feel that there are big lumps of some foreign material nudging at my feet. I am surprised as these are new shoes and there was no chance to damage them to this kind of degree… I look at where I am standing and it turns out it is an area similar to a parking place with a surface made of tar and asphalt which hasn’t solidified yet! Suddenly someone shouts out to me that they only just poured it yesterday and it is not ready to walk on yet! It is strange as I must have walked through this area into this building without any trouble at all! I realise I must run away from the place! I am running leaving deep impressions of my feet/boots in the surface, they are about 20-30 cm deep in the glistening black layer of the surface material! I know I must be quick! It is a short distance but it is taking me a while and in the meantime I have to make a decision which way to turn as I have 3 choices: return the very same way I got here (straight ahead and to the right), turn right to the path most people take, or turn left where I have not been. I seem to get some advice from people in the building to go the the right. I, however, shout a very decisive “NOOOO!” and I turn left and leave the compound through a little gate. I find myself on the streets of some ghost town! It seems a big city but I can see no people there at all! It seems completely deserted.

I wake up.

I recall the dream and my first impression of the place is that it was a large zoo even though the only animals I saw there was birds. I know, however, that there were other animals in other areas of the garden. In the moments after the dream I felt it all made perfect sense and I was able to work out the analogies and symbols and got very excited about it. I relived the dream to make sure it was embedded in my “conscious” memory and I knew I would remember it in the morning. I wasn’t able to sit down and write it down until in the afternoon when the imagery was not so vivid any more but the interpretation work that I did at night still holds…

I am only going to highlight some of the most symbolic themes from the dream, as the whole dream does not require an interpretation I think due to its simplicity

The colours: black and white,

money = energy?

returning to the cage after a break

Shoes = new identity?

Shoes = shaping habits?

looking at the world from the attic

taking pictures vs observing things

Russia as the East (to the right – towards the manifestation)

Leaving through the gate on the left (towards the non-manifestation)
